PILOTS
As a Dreamflight member you will
have the opportunity to fly the DC-3 for FREE during air shows, scenic rides or
position flights. You will also have the opportunity to rent the DC-3 at a very
discounted rate for personnel use. Our members have used Rose to fly friends and
family to Las Vegas for the weekend, Catalina island, Big Bear and many other
destinations.
As
you are aware, we have recently been featured on an NBC TV series as well as a
very nice segment on Discovery Travel Channel. We are currently set for
another static shoot for a movie at Corona. We expect more of these type
of opportunities to come up this summer - possibly even a flight to Europe in
December (geez, what a lunatic idea <g><g>). If you want to
take advantage of these opportunities, you must participate with us on an
on-going basis.
SCENIC
FLIGHTS:
As you are aware, we are subject to the mandated Drug/Alcohol compliance
programs. All pilots who want to fly scenic flights MUST be currently in
our program. If you are not, you will not be able to fly. If there
is a question about your currency, please call Betty or me to see if you are on
the list.
CURRENCY:
You must be current according to the FAR's to fly the scenic flights. You
do not need to be current to fly to and fro but for any paying passenger flights
you need to have met the requirements of FARs. In that regard, we have
never charged a monthly dues or assessment to maintain your status as a
DreamFlight Pilot. It is your responsibility to either fly on a
non-revenue flight to maintain currency or plan a time to come out to get
current. It normally only takes approx one hour for minimum currency in
the DC-3.
DRESS:
Everyone has been very professional about this. We need to continue that
way and always dress appropriately for the occasion. For flying, we need
to wear the DF polo shirt or a 'Captain's' shirt with epulets when there are
passengers on board. Your DF polo needs to be of 'recent vintage'.
We pass these on to pilots for our cost
TIMELINESS:
It is very important that we operate in a professional manner. It is my
belief that we need to be ready to go - all pre-flight, route planning, etc.
completed one hour before the time set for departure. We normally always
have lots and lots of fun at the air shows, etc. during the time that we
are not flying. The time for flying needs to be directed toward that.
If you cannot commit to prep time as necessary then we need to discuss that
